All students under the age of 18 must complete a required RMV 12 hours of behind-the-wheel driving with a professional driving instructor.
In Massachusetts, applicants for a Junior Operator License (JOL) must be 16½ to 18 years old, hold a valid learner's permit for at least 6 consecutive months, maintain a clean driving record, complete an approved driver education program, and log 40 hours of supervised driving (or 30 with a skills program).
Each lesson is 1 hour long.
After each completed lesson, notes will be provided by the instructor, including:
What was practiced during the lesson
Maneuvers that still need improvement
Instructor feedback to support at-home practice
All lessons will start and end at the same meeting location.
Each lesson must be signed off by the student on both the drive sheet and in the student portal.
Up to 3 lessons can be booked at a time.
